Stromer is a premium e-bike company, blending Swiss engineering with smart mobility. To bring this experience into the digital space, the app was redesigned to be more intuitive, emotionally engaging, and aligned with the brand’s identity.
With a clean, user-friendly interface, the new app strengthens the connection between rider and bike. It provides real-time status updates, supports everyday use, and reflects Stromer’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. At the same time, it creates new opportunities for the company to deliver meaningful digital services and build lasting user relationships.
As part of a cross-functional team I was responsible for the UI design. My role focused on crafting a visually clear, accessible interface that expresses the brand’s premium quality, while also improving usability. I created prototypes, defined key interaction patterns, and helped build the design system from the ground.
Project setup
The project was divided into three main phases: Discover, Define, and a design sprint for a digital service in each case.
Discover
Project onboarding and initial user feedback:
In a kick-off workshop, the project team was informed about the current status of the company's digital brand strategy and developed an understanding of the strategy.
Define
Define the app structure and design principles:
During the Define phase, the strategic requirements were translated into the app concept. We established the core design principles, look & feel, and the basic app structure as the conceptual and visual foundation for the upcoming design sprints, and documented them within the design system.
Design
Design of the app functions:
In each sprint, the industry standard was identified in an initial research phase. The strategic principles were developed and applied to the application in the UX/UI phase. Prototyping, testing and documentation followed.
